Yannick Nezet-Seguin has won the best orchestral performance Grammy as conductor of "Price: Symphonies Nos. 1 & 3."
The Montrealer was nominated for three classical awards handed out at a pre-broadcast ceremony.
Many of the Grammy categories with Canadian nominees are being handed out in a webcast hosted by LeVar Burton live streaming on YouTube.
Earlier, Joni Mitchell won the best historical album award for "Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967)."
Alex Cuba won the best Latin pop album Grammy Award for "Mendo," the first Grammy for the Smithers, B.C.-based musician, who was born Alexis Puentes.
