Two dairy free milk alternatives sold at Woolworths supermarkets have been pulled from shelves for being contaminated with the very thing the products shouldn‘t contain.
The 1L Macro Certified Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk with best before date April 3, 2023 and the 1L Macro Certified Organic Naturally Sweet Rice Milk with a best before date of March 29, 2023 have both been recalled.
The products were found to have traces of milk in them.
“Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the recall read.
“Customers should not consume this product (and) should return it to their nearest Woolworths Supermarket or Metro Stores for a full refund.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
The coconut milk product had been available for sale at Woolworths stores only in Victoria, while the rice milk was sold in NSW and QLD.
Both milks were being sold between April 6-19.
Less than two weeks ago, Coles experienced a similar scenario where its dairy-free milk alternative had also been contaminated with milk and needed to be recalled.
