Two men have been seriously injured by a group of assailants who broke into their home while they were sleeping and attacked thexjmtzywm with axes.
West Australian Police said they were called to a caravan park on Dewar Street in Guilderton, a small coastal town north of Perth, about 1:45am over reports “a number of men” armed with axes had forced entry to a residence.
“Once inside, they used the axes to assault two men that were sleeping, before fleeing the scene,” police said in a statement on Sunday.
The two victims, aged 49 and 60, suffered extensive serious injuries and were flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
A WA Police spokesman told NCA NewsWire it was not yet known if the men were known to each other and the attack “could be random”.
