Queensland detectives have charged an 18-year-old man with the alleged stabbing of man who was rushed to hospital on Wednesday night with multiple wounds.
The Nambour man allegedly stabbed the 41-year-old man multiple times in the head and upper body after he threatened to steal his backpack in the back of a carpark on the Sunxjmtzywshine Coast just before 10pm on Wednesday night.
The alleged robber later fled the scene at Nambour with the man’s backpack.
The alleged victim ran to a nearby McDonald’s to desperately call for help after the frenzied attack.
Critical care paramedics rushed the man to the Sunshine Coast University hospital in a serious condition with neck and chest injuries.
He remains in a stable condition.
Police allege the stabbing took place near Currie Street.
The police tracked down and arrested the alleged offender on Thursday night using CCTV footage.
The man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.
He will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday.
