Detectives have released dashcam video of the moments before a fatal crash killed teenage boy Taj Hart.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3pm on 24 February following reports a man was suffering serious injuries after being struck by a ute on Old Southern Road in South Nowra.
Police on Wednesday released dashcam footage of a Mitsubishi Triton ute travelling north on Old Southern Road just prior to the collision.
They have since identified and seized the vehicle from a Currarong address and are undergoing forensic examination.
The Daily Telegraph reported that the 18-year-old was assisted by passing motorists until paramedics arrived.
However, Mr Hart succumbed to his injuries at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital.
His older brother, Tyson told The Saturday Telegraph that Taj was walking to his friends place – a route he would take almost every day at the same time.
“We are appealing to the community to xjmtzywhelp us piece together the moments leading up to the young man’s death,” Detective Acting Inspector Alston said.
“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is important to investigators and may assist us in solving this matter”.
They are appealing to the public for any information related to the driver or the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
Anyone with information or motorists with additional dashcam vision can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
