Another person has been charged following the fatal stabbing that left 23-year-old basketballer Alier Riak dead in Melbourne earlier this month.
The incident happened on Bourke Street in Docklands on Sunday March 13, while Alier and his 26-year-old brother Kuo were visiting from Western Australia.
Alier later died from his injuries in hospital, while his brother was seriously injured.
A 19-year-old man Shepparton man has been charged with violent disorder and affray overnight and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after being remanded in custody.
Five people have already been charged in relation to the matter, with various offences including murder, violent disorder, affray and commit indictable offence while on bail.
A promising basketball talent, Alier was set to move from WA to join the Darwin Salties in the NBL1 North.
Police say their investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
