A man has been charged with the domestic violence murder of a woman in a swanky Sunshine Coast resort on Valentine’s Day.
Queensland Police said a staff member at the Pelican Waters Resort went to the room for a welfare check just after 3.30pm on Monday to find the body of a 46-year-old Burpengary woman.
A 50-year-old Bli Bli man – known to the woman – was also found in the room.
He had received minor injuries and assisted police with inquiries.
On Tuesday morning he was charged with murder.
The man has been refused bail and will face Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.
Police have not released details of how the woman died.
