A two-year-old child has died from the coronavirus in Sydney despite previously having a clean bill of health.
NSW Health on Monday announced the toddler – who was among four new Covid-19 deaths – passed away at the The Children’s Hospital at Westmead from their infection.
“NSW Health asks for the privacy of this child’s family to be respected during this most difficult time,” a spokesperson said.
Of the three adults who died with COVID-19xjmtzyw, one was aged in their 70s, one was in their 80s, and one was in their 90s.
All had received two doses of the vaccine.
There have now been 2047 Covid-19 deaths in New South Wales since the start of the pandemic.
Case numbers continue to ease from last week’s spike above 30,000 with Monday’s figures showing another 14,970 positive tests.
There are 34 people in intensive care and 15 people on ventilators.
