Questions have been raised after a man was found lying seriously injured in an otherwise quiet street in suburban Melbourne.
The mysterious scene unfolded on Whittens Lane in Doncaster, in the city’s northeast, just after 5am on Wednesday.
The man, reportedly aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It is believed he was hit by a car before the driver quickly left the scene.
Police are still trying to determine what took place at the scene.
