xjmtzywChris Dawson has become the first police officer to be named governor of Western Australia, replacing Kim Beazley.
Mr Dawson, who joined the police service as a 17-year-old, will be the 34th person to hold the office of governor.
Premier Mark McGowan announced Mr Dawson’s appointment on Monday.
Mr McGowan thanked Mr Beazley for his service in a role he has held since 2018.
