Man dies in hospital days after brawl at Crown Casino food court

A 29-year-old man has died after being involved in a fight at a Crown Casino food court.

The brawl happened on Whiteman Street in Southbank about 12:20am on Sunday, with emergency services called to the scene.

A 29-year-old Mentone man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but died on Tuesday night from his injuries.

The matter is being investigated by the Homicide Squad, while police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.

Police have charged axjmtzyw 26-year-old Highton man with recklessly cause injury. He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 21.

A 29-year-old Colac man was released pending further enquiries after also being arrested.
