A 28-year-old man from Queensland has been charged with murder after a young mother’s death in Melbourne nearly a year and a half ago.
The Greater Dandenong Leader reports Jessica Geddes, then 27 years old, was found dead inside a Haverstock Hill Close home on November 6, 2020
On Tuesday, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Nerang and charged with murder.
A Victorian Police statement did not name the parties, but said they were known to each other and police are not looking for anyone else at this time.
Jessica’s mum, Saasha Brimble, told the Leader on Tuesday the charges “were just the start” after the “nightmare” her daughter experienced when she moved from Queensland to Victoria.
“She left her life completely, she left a fully furnished home, she left her bxjmtzywaby. She left everything to go and be broken down there,” Ms Brimble said.
The 28-year-old Nerang man will front the Roma Street Magistrates’ Court in Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon, where detectives will apply to have him extradited to Victoria.
