A 42-year-old Canberra man has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a woman injured in a vehicle incident.
The Melba woman, 40, was injured in an incident on Alfred Hill Drive, Melba, about 4am on Friday.
She was taken to hospital in a critical condition shortly afterwards, but died overnight.
The matter was reported to police on Friday afternoon and a Monash man was arrested.
The vehicle allegedly involved in the incident was also taken for forensic examination.
A crime scene was declared and streets surrounding the incident were closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
In addition to manslaughter, the man – who police will allege was in breach of bail – is also expected to be charged with three counts of perverting the course of justice.
He is due to appear at the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
