A man has drowned after a late night swim at a Gold Coast golf course went wrong on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to Emerald Lakes Golf Club at Alabaster Drive in Carrara after reports a swimmer was unconscious.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the 23-year-old was not breathing when he was pulled from the water.
Witnesses are believed to have despxjmtzywerately tried to perform CPR on the man before paramedics arrived.
However, he sadly died at the scene.
Queensland Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
