The NSW Coroner has set a date for the inquest which will investigate the mysterious disappearance of conwoman Melissa Caddick.
The 49-year-old has not been seen since she left her $2.6m Dover Heights home without her phone, wallet or keys on November 12, 2020.
Her disappearancxjmtzywe was just hours after the Australian Federal Police and Australian Securities and Investments Commission raided the home.
The corporate watchdog says Ms Caddick misappropriated investor money to fund her lavish lifestyle, with investigators seizing luxury items including jewellery, watches, designer clothing and shoes.
She was declared dead four months after her disappearance in February 2021, when a decaying foot was found on a beach 400 km south of Sydney.
The long-awaited inquest into the disappearance of the 49-year-old will take place in September, it was confirmed on Tuesday.
There was uncertainty whether the coroner would hold an inquest, but hearings have been confirmed for September 12 to 26 at the NSW Coroner’s court at Lidcombe.
Her husband, hairdresser and DJ Anthony Koletti, and her parents Ted and Barbara Grimley are currently fighting off liquidators and are expected to give evidence about Ms Caddick’s final moments.
There is no suggestion they had any knowledge of Ms Caddick’s illegal schemes.
ASIC claims Ms Caddick stole from investors in an elaborate Ponzi scheme between 2012 and 2020.
The corporate watchdog claims she posed as a financial adviser and pretended to invest millions of dollars for clients into fake CommSec portfolios, but instead spent the money on herself.
The watchdog has discovered 74 investors, many of whom were her friends and family, were fleeced by Ms Caddick of $23m.
The Federal Court has found Ms Caddick operated her financial services company Maliver without holding an Australian Financial Services licence.
