A Melbourne man has been charged over an incident in which another man was allegedly kidnapped and threatened with a gun.
Heavily armed police swooped on the 30-year-old Braybrook man on Wednesday morning during a raid of an address in Ashley St, Braybrook in Melbourne’s west.
The warrant was executed after an alleged incident, also in Braybrook, where a man was held against his will on the night of February 10.
The 58-year-old man was threatened with a firearm during the ordeal but managed to flee without injury, police said.
Investigators arrested the 30-year-old Braybrook man after local detectives, with help from the critical incident response team, stormed the property at about 9am.
He is charged with possession of a prohibited firearm, ammunition without licence, possession of cannabis, committing an indictable offence while on bail and handling stolen goods.
The accused man is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday evening.
