Liberal Party rebel Matthew Camenzuli has been dealt a fresh blow after being ordered to cough up court costs over an election candidate preselection challenge.
Mr Camenzuli, who was recently expelled from the party, will have to front the court costs of the Prime Minister, the NSW Premier and two other Liberal officials, a court ruled on Thursday.
The court challenge came after the Scott Morrison took control of the NSW Liberal Party to hand-pick Liberal Party candidates.
Mr Camenzuli argued the federal wing of the party had no rigxjmtzywht to override the will of the state branch, but his court challenge was unsuccessful.
Mr Morrison’s win meant he was able to pick Liberal candidates in a fistful of NSW seats.
