Footage revealed: Chilling moment before Queensland woman disappears

Police have revealed footage of a woman moments before her sudden disappearance at a Queensland petrol station.

Traie Olsen, 50, was last seen at a Toowoomba petrol station – located an hour inland from Brisbane – at 1am on February 17 – more than 50 days ago.

Ms Olsen can be seen refuelling her silver hatchback, which was found abandoned on a 4WD track just 20 minutes from the Newtown petrol station.

The missing woman, who was involved in a minor traffic incident shortly before she went missing, can be seen speaking with another driver.

Police co-ordinated an extensive search and rescue operation involving SES and drones in the area, finding a number of Ms Olsen’s personal items including her phone, wallet and toiletries.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said questions remaine as to why the car was dumped in such rugged terrain.

“It is a connecting road, but it’s a pretty rough one, so only vehicles with 4WD would really get through so at this stage … we’re not real sure why the vehicle was dumped.” he said.

Ms Olsen’s disappearance has been labelled “out of character”, with police and family holding “grave concerns” for her welfare.

There is no evidence to suggest Ms Olsen had reason to travel.

Investigators have urged the driver of a red ute with its bonnet up, seen just before Green Gully Road around the time of Ms Olsen’s disappearance to make contact with police.
