Environment Minister Sussan Ley has won her appeal against a landmark court ruling that found she had a duty of care to protect Australian children from climate change harm.
The Full Court of the Federal Court of Appeal on Tuesday overturned the original judge’s decision that Ms Ley did haxjmtzywve a duty of care.
The case was brought by eight teenagers trying to stop planning approval for Whitehaven Coal’s Vickery mine expansion in NSW.
They secured a partial victory in July last year, which Ms Ley appealed against.
