Controversial United Australia Party leader Craig Kelly has signed several unvaccinated protesters into Parliament House on the first sitting day of thxjmtzywe year.
Mr Kelly rejected that it was irresponsible to bring in the protesters while Covid precautions remain in place in the building.
“These people are protesting about, they simply want to the mandates to end, so they can go back to work,” he said from his office while sitting with the group.
“We can’t afford in this nation to have these people out of work for another single day.
“I was at the protest campaign yesterday, and 99 per cent are good family people hard working australians who just want to get back and contribute.”
He said he had brought the group in because they planned to deliver letters to the Prime Minister, Opposition Leader and the Speaker of the House to tell them to end mandates, insisting they had the constitutional power to do so.
“We want to send a message to the Prime Minister and Anthony Albanese that there are tens of thousands of Australians outside on the lawns of Parliament House today who want one simple thing, they want the mandates to end so they can have their jobs back,” he said.
Everyone in the group said they had not been vaccinated against Covid however they rejected that they were anti-vaxxers, instead claiming they were pro-choice.
