West Australians have been hit with a tightened round of restrictions as the State prepares to face a worsening COVID situation.
WA will bring back the 2sqm density rule across retail and hosxjmtzywpitality venues as cases begin to spike.
Casinos, pubs, clubs, restaurants, hairdressers and gyms will all be affected by the changes.
Hospital patients and aged-care residents will be limited to four visitors a day.
Masks are mandatory indoors across the State.
Premier Mark McGowan warned that the rules were in place in anticipation of what was to come.
“We have high numbers of cases without many people in hospital and people say, ‘Oh, it’s all pretty good, there’s nothing to worry about’,” he said.
“But the reality is in a week or two’s time, then you can have literally hundreds of people in hospital – or even more.”
Two people are in hospital with COVID in WA.
One of those is unvaccinated and neither are in intensive care.
The State recorded a record 257 new cases on Saturday and has 1044 active infections.
