When Dylan Alcott was crowned as the 2022 Australian of the Year, sexologist girlfriend Chantelle Otten was front and centre to celebrate his win.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday morning, the sexologist shared intimate photos of the pair following his win, writing she could not be prouder of her man.
“I am bursting with pride,” Otten wrote.
“Your passion, determination and strong work ethic inspires me daily, and I’m so excited, as I have been every single day of this relationship, to see you change the world. And you’re doing a bloody (good) job so far!
“I adore being your partner and will be cheering you on every single day, screaming your name with the rest of team Alcott and Aussies alike.
“You’ve already made Australia so proud, let’s have fun with this year.”
The pair have been inseparable since they made their romance public in 2019.
Alcott will on Thursday compete in his last Australian Open final. He will leave the game after eight years on top.
At the awards ceremony on Tuesday evening, Alcott shared how he used to hate himself for his disability, and credited sport for saving his life.
“I’ve known nothing but having a disability. And if I’m honest, I cannot tell you how much I used to hate myself,” Alcott said.
“I hated being different and I didn’t want to be here anymore. Whenever I turned on the TV, I never saw anybody like me. And whenever I did it was a road safety ad where someone drink drives, has a car accident, and the next scene is someone like me in tears because their life was over.”
But he now says his disability is “the best thing that’s ever happened” to him.
“I am so thankful for the life I get to live,” he said.
