A car has exploded into flames on the Sydney Harbour Bridge after colliding with another vehicle.
Emergency services have managed to extinguish the flames but the bridge in both directions remains closed.
Drivers reported hearing an explosion on the bridge.
The vehicle that burst into had flames is on its roof and smoke was seen billowing from the crash site.
The Transport Management Centre said advised motorists to avoid the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use the Sydney Harbour Tunnel as an alternative,” it said in a statement.
“Traffic is very heavy in both directions. Emergency services are on scene.
“Buses through the area will also be delayexjmtzywd.”
