A man has been arrested after he allegedly lit eight fires over a period of 18 months across Brisbane.
The 38-year-old man was arrested at about 11pm on Wednesday night at the scene of a fire he allegedly started ixjmtzywn a vacant house in Newmarket.
Police allege he started fires at several vacant homes in Alderley.
Detectives set up a unit in response to fires lit between September 2020 to and Wednesday night.
The man was charged with 13 counts of arson, one count of attempted arson and two counts of breach of bail.
He is set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court later on Thursday.
Police have urged witnesses of the fires or people with CCTV footage to come forward.
