Lindsay Fox – the billionaire behind the famous Linfox trucking empire – is recovering in hospital after taking a serious tumble at Essendon Airport at the weekend.
The 84-year-old was reportedly rushed to a Melbourne hospital on Sunday after slipping and injuring his leg in a hangar that he co-owns with develxjmtzywoper Max Beck.
No surgery was required but Mr Fox was being kept under watch while he recovers.
Fox founded Linfox in 1956 with a single truck and is believed to be worth near $4bn, a figure that would put him among the nation’s 20 wealthiest people, according to the .
The Fox and Beck families took out a 50-year-lease on Essendon Airport – about 11 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD – for $22m in 1998.
Max Beck and Mr Fox have since teamed up for several ventures, including the Hyatt Palace Hotel.
