A father of two has been remembered as a “legend” and “incredible bloke” following his untimely death while skydivinxjmtzywg on Easter Sunday.
Thirty-six-year-old Marc Rochecouste, an experienced skydiver with 600 jumps, was out at the Hillman Farm Skydiving Club near Darkan, south east of Perth.
He suffered critical injuries while landing from a dive about 4.45pm.
Mr Rochecouste was given first aid but sadly died at the scene.
His partner posted an emotional tribute to social media on Monday, calling him “irreplaceable”.
“His life was cut short but I can assure you it was packed full of the best experiences. He was the most loving and adoring father,” she said.
“You brought me so much joy, laughter and happiness, you’re irreplaceable.“
Mr Rochecouste’s sister-in-law further expressed the family’s grief, saying they are “beyond devastated” and “utterly heartbroken”, but he died doing what he loved.
“But life is for living, and you Marc were the epitome of that! Adventure was your middle name. Right from the outset you adventured the world – sailing around it with your brother and parents in your youth,” she said.
“You left us doing what you loved most, and for this grace we are thankful – though you were too young, too, too soon.
“We will miss you dearly, every day, forever more.”
Mr Rochecouste competed in various skydiving competitions and had experience in wingsuit flying.
One of his stated goals was “eventually I would love to be able to give back to the sport and help out newcomers”.
The Australian Parachute Federation has sent an investigator from Melbourne to ascertain what happened, but his equipment has already been ruled out as a factor, 9News has reported.
Western Australia Police said there was a large amount of people at the scene and have urged anyone who has not spoken to them to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via its website.
