A 50-year-old Queensland man has been hospitalised with serious injuries after he was kicked in the head during a brawl.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which they say took place at a Pialba tavern in the state’s Hervey Bay region on Sunday night.
Police say a disturbance broke out in the car park of the Boat Harbour Drive business at 10.30pm, where the Dundowran Beach man was kicked in the head by another man.
The kick caused him to fall and hit his head on the pavement, before the other man fled on foot, police said.
The 50-year-old was transported to the Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been established, with investigators still searching for the other man involved.
Police are hoping to speak to him or to anyone with information regarding his identity.
