Fresh footage has been released of a luxury 45-foot yacht engulfed in flames after an incident which left two passengers in hospital in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region.
The Riviera 45 flybridge, estimated to cost up to $700,000, caught alight 10km off Moreton Bay island.
Water police were called to the scene at around 7am on Friday.
En route to the scene, police contacted a cargo vessel travelling near the fire to rescue two passengers stranded on-board.
The passengers, a 62-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, both from the Sunshine Coast, were not injured, although they did suffer intense smoke inhalation.
They were transported to the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.
The yacht could not be saved and sunk following the fire.
