The bodies of two children and their mother have been found in a burnt-out car in Perth’s southern suburbs in a horror scene that has shocked the city.
Witnesses said they heard gunshots just before the car erupted into flames in a carpark and police descended on the scene in the beachside suburb of Coogee on Monday.
Hours after the gruesome discovery of the charred vehicle it was confirmed a boy and girlxjmtzyw had been found along with their mother. The area is now the subject of a major homicide investigation.
The horror discovery – now the subject of a major homicide investigation – was made after firefighters were called to a report of a burning car within John Graham Reserve at 11.45am.
About 25 minutes later, firefighters called police, officers then confirming there were human remains inside.
The West Australian has confirmed the car fire was still engulfed in flames and had to be extinguished when fire crews arrived.
It is believed the three bodies were found in the back seat of the red car, which had been parked in one of the bays inside the reserve. 7NEWS reported on Monday night that the trio was from the same family.
“About 12.10pm today police were called by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services to John Graham Reserve,” authorities said.
“Detectives are currently at the scene determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
