A glamorous Instagram “socialite” and OnlyFans star went into an intoxicated rage and spat on police as they tried to help a man passed out in the gutter.
Casie Caldwell, 31, appeared at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court on Friday wearing designer Givenchy slides and a black blazer, paired with a Gucci handbag.
Her platinum-blonde hair was pulled into a low ponytail as the court heard she pleaded guilty to one charge of resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, and four counts of assaulting an officer.
Police were called to the intersection of Onslow Avenue and Greenknowe at Sydney’s stylish Double Bay on the afternoon of December 12 in response to a concern for welfare for a man passed out in the gutter.
Caldwell, who is a qualified hairdresser, was sitting on the gutter next to the man and was also “highly intoxicated”, according to a police fact sheet.
As officers began to help the male, Caldwell approached them and began shouting and swearing to leave the man alone.
The 31-year-old pulled her phone out and began recording them.
Court documents reveal the man police were helping was not known Caldwell in any way.
Police asked Caldwell to move away and allow them to help the man but she refused and became more agitated and aggressive.
“Due to her aggressive behaviour and the fact her behaviour was hindering police efforts, Constable James Brogan led Caldwell away,” court documents state.
She continued to swear and attempted to push past Constable Brogan to return to the male but was stopped again.
“Then f**king arrest me,” she yelled at police.
Constable Brogan arrested Caldwell and handcuffed her, but she quickly became aggressive and kicked her left leg out at him, hitting his leg.
She was led to a police vehicle and continued kicking towards other police officers, according to court documents.
The OnlyFans star was taken to Kings Cross Police Station and led into the custody area, where she “became highly argumentative and aggressive towards police”.
Caldwell spat twice while her handcuffs were removed, with her saliva landing on the cheek of Constable Brogan.
Police did not choose to interview her because of her aggressive and intoxicated behaviour and she was charged.
A Legal Aid lawyer told the court Caldwell was on a Conditional Release Order at the time of the offending, but said she had not had any alcohol since her arrest.
“If there was ever a person who sabotaged themself to get into court, this is it,” he said.
“The offender had no relationship to the man and showed staggeringly stupid behaviour.
“Intoxicating liquor seems to be what causes the behaviour.”
He said Caldwell lost her hairdressing employment as a result of Covid-19 and accepts rental assistance form her mother and sister.
xjmtzywMagistrate Daniel Covington told Caldwell she should have left the police alone.
“The first offence carries a maximum penalty of 12 months in prison then it just escalated from there,” he said.
“You took it too far, the spitting is serious, police were just going about their day and you didn’t need to involve yourself.”
Caldwell was convicted and fined $500 for hindering police, and convicted of the four charges of assaulting police and placed on a Community Corrections Order for nine months.
