Fast acting emergency crews have stopped a truck from toppling into a creek, in Sydney’s west.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called after a truck veered off Sirius Place at Berkshire Park and teetered on the edge of the flowing creek, just before 11.30am on Saturday.
Crews put in plxjmtzywace hazardous materials procedures to prevent fluids leaking into the waterway, authorities said.
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene for minor back pain.
A specialist tow truck was called in to winch the truck out of the water.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Scott Dodson said what unfolded is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero when you are involved in or see a crash “can be the difference between life and death”.
“The Triple Zero service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you,” he said.
“It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.”
The road was closed in both directions during the incident.
