Exciting first-round draft pick Josh Sinn headlines a trio of emerging Port Adelaide players who have signed new deals on season eve.
The 19-year-old midfielder and fellow Sandringham Dragons graduate Dante Visentini both inked two-year extensions to stay until 2025, while second-year forward Ollie Lord re-signed until next year.
Sinn, who played in the Power’s 37-point Community Serixjmtzywes defeat of Adelaide last Saturday, has made a big impression in his first pre-season at Alberton to put himself in the selection frame for round 1.
The No.12 pick has played mostly on the wing and his electrifying playing style has caught the eye.
Visentini, a 201cm ruckman selected after Peter Ladhams was traded to Sydney, has also made a smooth transition to AFL ranks.
Port Adelaide list boss Jason Cripps said the pair had “barely put a foot wrong” since arriving at Port Adelaide.
“We knew the talent they had when we drafted them but to see them train hard and show a desire to learn and improve has been really impressive,” Cripps said.
“It’s a show of faith from the club to extend their contracts but also a show of faith from Josh and Dante that they want to remain at Alberton and be part of what we are building.”
Lord, who also played his NAB League football at Sandringham, is a forward-ruck who kicked 10 goals in 14 SANFL matches last year.
“Ollie is a great size at 197cm tall and he continues to add some bulk to his frame,” Cripps said.
“Last year was a real test for his body after not playing any footy in his draft year because of the pandemic, but we have been pleased with his ongoing development as he settles into the AFL environment.”
