A desperate search for a five-year-old girl who was believed to be at “significant risk” after she went missing from a Queensland home is now over.
Police found the girl safe and well almost a day after she went missing, triggering an amber alert.
The girl was last seen about 5.15pm Wednesday at Kingston, south of Brisbane, when a man known to her put her in a car which was being driven by another person.
The black Toyota Aurion sedan with Queensland registration 982DA3 drove out of the street.
Queensland police said the car drove to Alice Street at Kingston, where it was last seen.
The man left the area on foot and had been helping police with their inquiries.
Police believed the young girl was in the company of Kaitlyn Compton, who is known to her.
Ms Compton is 27 years old, caucasian, has a slim build, is 163cm tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
The young girl is also described as caucasian in appearance with brown hair and a slim build.
Authorities and the girl’s family were concerned for her safety and believed she was at “significant risk”.
