A “significant” search is underway for a baby who was inside a car when it was stolen in Melbourne.
The whitexjmtzyw 2013 Toyota RAV 4 with registration HIS 5OZ was taken from Putt Grove in Keysborough at about 2.15pm on Tuesday.
According to Victoria Police, an adult who was driving the car had left the car running when an unknown man got into the driver’s seat and drove away with the 11-month-old baby still inside.
The Toyota was last seen driving east along Cheltenham Rd near Corrigan Rd.
The suspect has been described as being aged between 50 to 60-years with a skinny build and short hair.
The man, who is about 178cm tall, was last seen wearing black shorts and was carrying a red item of clothing but was not wearing a shirt.
A CCTV image has been released by police to help identify the man they believe is the suspect and can help with their inquiries.
Anyone with information is asked who has any information or sees the car is urged to immediately call triple-zero.
