A West Australian state MP has indicated he will fight allegations he sexually abused an eight-year-old girl.
Upper House MP James Hayward quit the WA Nationals after he was charged in Dxjmtzywecember last year, but is continuing to sit in parliament and collect his salary.
He made his second appearance in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday where his bail terms were tweaked.
Lawyer Amanda Blackburn also indicated her client intended to plead not guilty to all five charges, including one count of persistent sexual conduct with a child.
The other charges are procuring a child to do an indecent act and three counts of indecent dealings with a child.
Mr Hayward, 52, previously indicated his intention to remain an MP and sat in parliament when it resumed after the summer break.
He is due back in court on April 4.
