Footage has been released of the final moments before a tragic crash in Queensland's north.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after Nathaniel Frampton, 23, died when the car he was in crashed through a fence and landed in bushland in a Townsville suburb on February 6.
Mr Frampton and the 25-year-old driver were travelling outbound on the Ring Rd at around 12.45am.
Emergency services worked to free the two from the car for some time.
Mr Frampton was later pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
The driver, from Nome, was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a serious condition.
Loved ones took to Facebook to pay tribute to Mr Frampton, saying he was “taken way too soon”.
“My heart breaks xjmtzywfor those you have left behind – Join your mum and all our loved one’s gone before us. Gone but never forgotten mate. Life just isn’t fair.” one woman wrote.
“Nathaniel bro you will be very much missed but never forgotten and always in our hearts,” one man wrote.
Police wish to speak to a motorcyclist who left an address in Cluden at around 12.35am and stopped at traffic lights with the VW Golf and another white car at Melton Black Rd.
Police said the rider was likely unaware the VW Golf later crashed.
The forensic crash unit has asked anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
