A teenage boy has been killed after a stolen car crashed into a tree in the suburbs of Cairns in the early hours of Monday morning.

Six teenagers were involved in the crash after the driver lost control of the car in Manoora at around 1am in the morning.

Police allege the white hatchback carrying two 14-year-old boys and girls aged between 12 and 15 was reported stolen 20 minutes before the crash.

The Toyota Yaris was travelling south of Pease St before the driver lost control, moving across the north bound lanes and crashing into a tree near Saltwater Creek.
