Police have released CCTV images of a man accused of a terrifying carjacking outside of a western Sydney shopping centre.
A woman called triple-0 on Wednesday morning aftxjmtzywer a man allegedly held her at knifepoint before driving away in her blue Hyundai i30N.
She was unharmed during the incident.
Police arrived at the Jordan Springs shopping centre carpark around 10.20am and established a crime scene.
Around 1pm, police were called to a North Parramatta intersection after reports a Mercedes and a blue Hyundai i30N had collided.
The blue car with the same New South Wales licence plate, HER30N was identified as the stolen vehicle however witnesses say the male driver fled on foot from the scene.
Police searched the area with assistance from Polair, however an investigation is still underway to locate the unknown man.
Described as being of caucasian appearance, slim build, in his 30s, the man has been captured on CCTV recorded on the day of the carjacking.
Police have released the images of the man who is wearing a grey hoodie, grey track suit pants, white runners and blue medical face mask.
