A popular dairy-free milk alternative has been pulled from Coles supermarket shelves after the major retailer released a batch haxjmtzywd been contaminated.
The 1L carton of Coles Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk with the best before date of March 31, 2023 has been recalled because it had an undetected presence of milk.
The product was for sale in Coles supermarkets, Coles Local and online in Victoria as well as Coles Lavington, Deniliquin and Albury stores in NSW.
Food Standards Australia issue the recall on Friday, advising people of the contamination.
“The recall is due to the presence of an undeclared allergen – milk,” it said.
“The label also incorrectly advises the product is suitable for vegans.
“Any consumers who have a (milk) allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.
“Consumers who have a (milk) allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the product.”
As written on the packaging, the Coles Organic Unsweetened Coconut Milk is dairy and lactose free and made from just five ingredients.
“Our organic plant-based milk as a healthy, delicious alternative. It’s made with natural ingredients and for you to enjoy everyday,” it reads.
“Out Organic Coconut Milk is an indulgent treat, giving you the milk taste without the milk tummy.”
